The Portman Group
The Portman Group was set up in 1989 by the UK's leading drinks producers, which together supply the majority of the alcohol sold in the UK.
Its purpose is:
- to promote responsible drinking
- to help prevent misuse of alcohol
- to encourage responsible marketing
- to foster a balanced understanding of alcohol-related issues.

EFRD
The European Forum for Responsible Drinking
The EFRD is an alliance of Europe's leading spirits companies supporting targeted initiatives to promote responsible drinking. These initiatives focus on attitudinal and awareness programs, responsible marketing and self-regulation as well as the promotion of a better understanding of the evidence base. EFRD seeks to promote the Partnership approach with interested stakeholders to tackle alcohol related harm.
EFRD Members include: Bacardi-Martini, Brown-Forman, Diageo Plc, Moët-Hennessy, Pernod-Ricard, Rémy-Cointreau and V&S Group.
EACA
The European Association of Communications Agencies
EACA is a Brussels-based organisation which represents full-service advertising and media agencies and agency associations in Europe.
Its mission is:
- to promote honest and effective advertising
- to promote high professional standards, and awareness of the contribution of advertising in a free market economy
- to encourage close links between agencies, advertisers and media in Europe.
AEDE
The European Association of Teachers
AEDE was founded in 1956. AEDE is pursuing the aim of its founders: to be a network of European contacts, ideas and activities, working towards giving the younger generations an education that will equip them to grow into a European society capable of tackling the formidable and complex problems that it will need to resolve.
COFACE
The Confederation of Family Organisations in the European Union
COFACE was founded in 1958 as the European Action Committee of the International Union of Family Organisations (IUFO). Over time, it gained more independence, and in 1979 turned itself into an international not-for-profit voluntary organisation: Confederation of Family Organisations in the European Community, now the European Union. COFACE is a non-political, non-religious-based organisation which links together general and single-issue national family organisations. COFACE currently has 60 member organisations across the Member States of the European Union and gives a voice to many millions of parents and children.
Generation Europe Foundation
Generation Europe Foundation was created in 1995 with the aim of challenging the difficulty in finding channels to communicate messages of a 'serious' nature to young people. A unique answer is provided by the Foundation (a non-political and non-commercial organisation) which has created a practical tool for meeting this challenge in the form of a school diary, called the 'Europa Diary'.
